About the Event
American Heart Month serves as a crucial reminder to prioritize heart disease prevention, particularly among our most vulnerable populations facing higher risks. Statistics reveal increased rates of hypertension and diabetes in our community, emphasizing the need for targeted preventive efforts. Adopting heart-healthy lifestyles, including proper diet, regular exercise, and stress management, can significantly lessen these risks.
This February, let's use this reminder to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and foster a culture of preventive care, working towards a future where heart disease is not just treatable but preventable. The GVI Wellness Program via the Division of Personnel, in collaboration with the Department of Health - Chronic Disease Division, is thrilled to announce the “2024 Heart-2-Heart Silent Headphone Walk Event”.
For Cigna Active Employees & Cigna Retirees Under the Age of 65, please visit gviwellness.org/register to complete your registration.
For the general public, you can register by visiting eventbrite.com/e/american-heart-month or by scanning the QR Code on the flyer.
Registrants will receive an event T-shirt distributed through your agency's HR staff, while Retirees can retrieve their shirts at the Division of Personnel offices.
Please bring a valid I.D. to receive your headphones to use during the silent walk.
PARKING – For St. Thomas, no cars will be allowed to park within the Crown Bay Center facility however, there will be a lot across from the Center designated for participants.
